Winter's grasp.

There's a saying in Colorado about the weather; if you don't like it just wait a few minutes and it will change.  And there's no better place to witness this than in the mountains.  Heck, even going through Eisenhower tunnel (where the continental divide is) it can be bright and sunny on one side and dumping snow on the other. The snow's been coming down since last September, and the record setting snow packs in the mountains is a testament to just how much of it we've gotten.  But from what I hear it's spring.
The critters have been down feeding on the ridge behind where I live, and by critters I mean the herds of elk led by 8 point bulls and the three coyotes that I woke up to one morning while they took down a smaller animal outside my bedroom window.   But while the rivers are running faster by the day and the wildflowers are starting to emerge from beneath winter's blanket it's like riding on a ping pong ball weather wise with winter at one end of the table while spring smacks us back and forth.
